Gamma Camera Unit, RCH Treliske

This project, undertaken for the Trust’s Nuclear Medicine Department, required the provision of an extension to their existing partially-buried ‘nuclear bunker’ suite in order to accommodate the installation of a brand new Gamma Camera, its dedicated control room and associated staff and patient facilities. Typically, within such a busy hospital generally and a specialist department in particular, this had to be achieved with minimal disruption to the normal activities of the existing arrangements. Alongside the traditional building site processes, the scheme also involved significant specialist tanking construction input as well as radiation protection measures which were in turn overseen by the hospitals Department of Medical Physics.
