James Moran RIBADirector
James grew up in St Ives and has over 20 years experience in practice in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset with Lilly Lewarne Practice. James’s experience of project types and scale is broad and layered – from award winning private housing and flagship commercial offices, to community projects, affordable housing, education and healthcare – with a simple underlying philosophy of design-led solutions fitting and appropriate to their context. James has a particular interest in regeneration – adapting and rejuvenating redundant and derelict sites and buildings to bring them back into viable contemporary use – and retains a hands on approach with all conceptual design work at the practice.
Rob studied at Plymouth University between 2004 and 2010 and completed his architectural professional studies becoming qualified in 2013. Rob had previously worked for BBP Architects in Melbourne, Australia and for Robert Rowett Architectural Services, Lostwithiel before joining the Lilly Lewarne team in 2011. Rob has wide experience in both the commercial and domestic realms but specialises in contemporary one off dwellings and can guide these projects from concept design right through to completion on site.
Simon BoultonArchitectural Assistant
Simon graduated from Plymouth University in 2007 with a BA (Hons) degree in Architecture. Simon previously worked for a Cornish Architect as an Architectural Assistant and the Local Authority as a Highway Design Technican before joining Lilly Lewarne in 2014. Simon has experience in a variety of schemes and is involved in the production of drawings and visualisations for both the planning and technical stages working closely with Project Architects, clients and consultants.

Robert MooreSenior Associate
After 17 years at John Crowther + Associates in Truro, Robert joined Mike Lilly and David Lewarne to form LLP in 1992, and has over 40 years experience taking projects from inception through to completion, across sectors including housing, commercial retail and office, institutional, educational and healthcare. Keen appreciation of the financial, statutory, operational and commercial imperatives of projects, and their reliance on strategy, clear design format and spatial efficiency.
Having worked in Architectural practice throughout the South West Patrick joined Lilly Lewarne in 2011, with particular interests in regeneration projects and historic buildings. He completed his professional studies at The University of Bath becoming ARB registered in 2013. Patrick has experience in a range of project types including, healthcare, regeneration, commercial, large scale residential, listed buildings and contemporary one-off housing and can administer jobs from inception through to completion.
Dan SherriffJunior Architectural Technician
Joining Lilly Lewarne in 2013 Dan has gained huge experience assisting across a range of projects including one off high-end houses, mixed use schemes including Passivhaus certified housing, house extensions, commercial and healthcare projects. Dan is involved with projects from feasibility through to technical design. Dan registered as a Profile Candidate with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists in 2016 and is progressing toward becoming a professional Architectural Technician.
Charlotte WilliamsOffice Manager
Mark Duston RIBAArchitect
Mark originates from Cornwall and studied Architecture at Canterbury College of Art (latterly the Kent Institute of Art and Design), registering as an Architect in 1992. He has worked in various practices in the UK and abroad, gaining a broad level of experience with most building types, construction methods and procurement. Mark joined Lilly Lewarne Practice in 1998.
Neil DolleyChartered Architectural Technologist
Graduating in 1997 with a BA Hons degree in 3D Design, Neil worked for a Jersey practice before joining Lilly Lewarne in 2005, where he has developed extensive skill and experience in technical design – working across a broad variety of project sectors from project inception through to completion. Neil became a Member of the Chartered Architectural Technologists (MCIAT) in June 2013, and now mentors junior and trainee technologists at the practice.
Dale CummingsArchitectural Assistant
Dale studied at Portsmouth University, between 2013 and 2016, graduating with his BA (Hons) degree in July 2016. Here he undertook many different types of projects following the RIBA Plan of Work from Stage 1, concept design to Stage 4, technical design. Showing his skills in programs such as AutoCAD and Photoshop. He is now applying these skills into professional practice as an Architectural Assistant here at Lilly Lewarne.
