James Moran RIBA

Director

James grew up in St Ives and has over 20 years experience in practice in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset  with Lilly Lewarne Architects. James’s experience of project types and scale is broad and layered – from award winning private housing and flagship  commercial offices, to community projects, affordable housing, education and healthcare – with  a simple  underlying philosophy of design-led solutions fitting and appropriate to their context. James has a particular interest in regeneration – adapting and rejuvenating redundant and derelict sites and buildings to bring them back into viable contemporary use – and retains a hands on approach with all conceptual design work at the practice.

Gill Moran

Director

With over 20 years of office and business managerial experience in the finance industry, Gill joined Lilly Lewarne Architects in March 2012 as accounts manager, developing her knowledge on the running of an architectural practice. In 2016, and along side James Moran, Gill became a practice Director, working closely with the office manager to ensure the smooth running of the Lilly Lewarne office.

Charlotte Williams

Office Manager

After relocating to Cornwall from London in 1997, Charlotte joined Lilly Lewarne Architects as P.A. to the practice founders Mike Lilly & David Lewarne, having had many years of professional administration experience. Having left the practice in 2001 to start a family, Charlotte re-joined the LLA team in 2010 as the practice manager, becoming a fundamental part of the day to day running of the Lilly Lewarne offices.

Rob Simmons

Rob Simmonds

Associate Architect

Rob studied at Plymouth University between 2004 and 2010 and completed his architectural professional studies becoming qualified in 2013. Rob had previously worked in Melbourne , Australia and for Robert Rowett Architectural Services, Lostwithiel before joining the Lilly Lewarne team in 2011. Rob has experience in both the Commercial and domestic realms ranging from contemporary one off dwellings to affordable housing schemes taking jobs from inception through to completion.

Patrick Clark

Associate Architect

Having worked in Architectural practice throughout the South West Patrick joined Lilly Lewarne in 2011, with particular interests in regeneration projects and historic buildings. He completed his professional studies at The University of Bath becoming ARB registered in 2013. Patrick has experience in a range of project types including, healthcare, regeneration, commercial, large scale residential, listed buildings and contemporary one-off housing and can administer jobs from inception through to completion.

Dan Sherriff

Chartered Architectural Technologist MCIAT

Originally joining Lilly Lewarne Architects in 2013, Dan has developed extensive skill and experience in drafting, creating 3D perspectives, the planning process and technical design, working across a broad variety of projects and project sectors from inception through to completion. In 2018, Dan successfully qualified as a Professional Architectural Technician (TCIAT) with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT), later attaining his Chartered status (MCIAT) in 2019.

Simon Boulton

Architectural Assistant

Simon graduated from Plymouth University in 2007 with a BA (Hons) degree in Architecture. Simon previously worked for a Cornish Architect as an Architectural Assistant and the Local Authority as a Highway Design Technican before joining Lilly Lewarne in 2014. Simon has experience in a variety of schemes and is involved in the production of drawings and visualisations for both the planning and technical stages working closely with Project Architects, clients and consultants.

Relocating to Cornwall from Newcastle in May 2016, Dale originally joined Lilly Lewarne Architects in October 2016, after successfully graduating from Portsmouth University with a BA Hons Degree in Architecture. Having worked for LLA for two years, developing a greater understanding of work in practice, Dale decided to attend Plymouth University in 2018 to carry out the second part of his professional studies, graduating with a Masters Degree in Architecture in 2020. Now having re-joined Lilly Lewarne Architects, Dale is developing his knowledge and experience of the industry, in preparation to undertake the final stage of becoming a fully qualified Architect.

Dale is involved in projects from Inception and Feasibility (RIBA Stages 0-1) all the way to the Technical Design stages (RIBA Stage 4), with experience in both residential and commercial projects.
