South Crofty Masterplan, Pool

This masterplan is the result of 8 years consultation with public & private stakeholders developing a new residential district to regenerate the historic mine site. The site holds many challenges due to its steep topography, available access and former industrial use. The design team have responded with robust strategies to deal with access, build-ability and drainage issues.

The scheme knits sensitively into the Tuckingmill Conservation Area with a similar scale and street pattern to extend a character appropriate to the village. To the East the scale and forms step up to front the proposed link road and connects into planned commercial developments adjacent to the site.
